Take part in a fun event, and help EGH!

Please join us for the annual Made in the Shade Walk, Run, and Roll fundraiser at Thomas beach on Lake Calhoun on Saturday, September 25,2010. This is a very fun event and all funds raised by EGH go directly to the people we serve.

As the title implies, participants can walk, run or roll the 5k (three mile) trail around Lake Calhoun. There is a 5K race to be held at 9:30 a.m., or a non-competitive walk held at 10:00 a.m. A continental breakfast is provided before the walk, and a pizza lunch after, with live music!

Register by going to the link below. Click "get involved," then sign up by clicking the "register online" link next to the EGH logo.

If you can't join us, we hope you'll support Made in the Shade by sending a gift to EGH. All proceeds raised by EGH will directly benefit the people we serve. Thank you for supporting the people served by EGH, Inc!

Welcome to Episcopal Group Homes, Inc!

Neither the conditions of a disability nor the perceptions of others should unnecessarily limit any person’s potential for growth and development. Each person has the right to move in pursuit of his or her dreams at his or her own rate.

The mission of Episcopal Group Homes is to provide quality residential services to persons with developmental disabilities, creating for them a supportive and challenging environment and the opportunity to developegh2 skills essential to functioning as members of a community.

Episcopal Group Homes recognizes that an individual’s level of independence can have a direct effect on his or her self-esteem, and that self-esteem can be a determining factor in motivation and learning. Independence in this sense is not only defined by a physical living environment, but also by one's own life decisions and the quality of that person’s relationships with others.

The philosophy of EGH strongly encourages skill development, relationship building and self-determination, as opposed to simply providing a protective environment. Training in self-help and social skills, along with opportunities to experience the natural consequences of decisions and behavior, promote growth toward maximum self-sufficiency.
